The phrase comes from the action of making someone believe only what you want them to believe at the same time preventing them from accessing any other information. Interestingly, once you read information, and believe it as fact, the brain has a very hard time distinguishing the credibility of that information. For example, recalling facts from “Buzzfeed” or from the “British Journal of Sports Medicine”, have the same weight of credibility in your mind. Maybe this should be an incentive to be more critical of what we allow into our newsfeed?

Fun Fact? This was drawn in one of my favourite coffee shops in Sydney, “Bay Ten Espresso”, just before I left for Spain!
